Manganese Phosphate

Electroless Nickel

What is Manganese Phosphate Coating?

Manganese phosphating is an oil absorptive coating that prevents excessive wear and seizing of surfaces during a break-in period. The most advantageous reasons for using manganese phosphate are the prevention of metal to metal contact, excellent oil retention and corrosion resistance, and superior lubrication during break-in.

What products commonly use this process?

Manganese phosphate is most commonly used on piston rings, camshafts, liners, differential gears, transmission gears, motor blocks and similar bearing surfaces.

We can coat parts up to 55" in length.

Ordering Information
To process your request for quote (RFQ) or your order properly we will need the following information about your parts:

  • Base material? What alloy is your part made of? Please be as specific as possible.
  • Do you want the part abrasive blasted?
  • Are there any areas of the part that you do not want the coating on? Include a drawing or sketch. Please note that masking a part generally increases the price due to the labor involved.
  • Do you want a supplemental corrosion resistant coating applied after processing?
  • What, if any, specification do you need the process certified to?
  • Any special handling requirements you may have.
